Do good,
but better.

Whether driven by purpose or profit, organisations know that deepening their impact and genuinely strengthening their social licence is paramount.

When they want to do it more effectively, they come to me.

Headshot · Lee Crockford. Smiling at the camera in a blue t-shirt with a semi-industrial background.

I help businesses, governments, and NGOs strategically define and measure impact, build organisational capacity, and increase meaningful engagement with stakeholders.

With 20 years experience as an advisor, facilitator, speaker, and non-executive director, I help remove the roadblocks organisations face when creating better outcomes or building their social licence.

My work blends passion with pragmatism: profit and purpose aren't in spite of each other, but in service each other.

Think of me as your impact wingman.

  • Strengthen people and culture to underpin impact.

How I do it

Advisor and consultant

I’ll give you the fish.

Lee Crockford working alone on a laptop in an airy warehouse.

Discovery

I use a systems-thinking approach to better identify challenges and dependencies: separating symptoms from causes, connecting the dots, and mapping context.

Solution design

I craft clear, actionable blueprints that detail what needs to happen, with whom, why, and to what extent—always blending purpose with pragmatism.

Execution

I bring the blueprint to life—leading each step with purpose and agility. This can be as project manager, facilitator, designer, or something more bespoke.

Some examples include

  • Built the first LGBTQIA+ outcomes framework for the Victorian State Government.
  • Co-designed a national wellbeing and values strategy for professional services firm, BDO.
  • Designed an award-winning behaviour-change campaign for Anglicare to encourage Australians to become foster carers.

Keynotes

I deliver dynamic, thought-provoking keynotes that not only inspire but challenge audiences to see social impact in new and actionable ways.

Facilitation

I create engaging, inclusive spaces for meaningful dialogue, guiding groups to align on purpose, surface insights, and turn ideas into impactful action.

Training

I provide hands-on training sessions that equip leaders with practical skills and strategies to drive social impact from within organisations.

Some examples include

  • Provided a keynote address at Estoril Conferences Portugal in the role of leaders on wellbeing in the workplace.
  • Facilitated the new strategic direction of Virgin's Unite's work on the "future of work" with CEOs across Australia.
  • Trained Department of Transport's staff in co-design and design thinking practices.

For those wanting to maximise their long-term impact, I can be by your side to provide guidance and challenge assumptions—using a “sage on the side” approach to support internal reflection and meaningful growth. This can be weekly, monthly, or ad hoc.

Previous work includes

  • Coached impact startups participating in global incubator, UNLEASH, in impact measurement, pitching, and organisational capacity.
  • Mentored a range of LGBTQIA+ charities in capacity assessment as part of Aurora Foundation funding.
  • Individually mentored a range of entrepreneurs starting and scaling their ventures.

Lee's method, preparation, delivery, competency, and style is outstanding and out-ranks anything I have seen previously.

I just loved the process he used for our strategic planning—it was so democratic. It really allowed every possible topic or concern to be expressed without any fear of judgement, and ensured priorities were a shared decision.

My sincere thanks to Lee for being such a positive force for good and bringing his skills and talents to AMTF so generously.

Lee is someone that people warm to. He’s great in difficult situations when there are opposing views and has a way of engaging people to make them feel valued.

He draws out threads to help people see that they’re more in agreement than disagreement. There’s an art to that.
